Caroline was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She completed her undergraduate degree in stages starting at Mount Royal College in Calgary and moved to Victoria , B.C. in 1987 to attend the art program at Camosun College. She obtained her B.F.A with Distinction from the University of Victoria in 1994. After working and painting for several years she accepted a full teaching scholarship to attend the Masters of Fine Art progran at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon in 1998.

Upon completion of the program Caroline was nominated for both the Governor General's Medal For Excellence in Thesis Work, as well as the University of Saskatchewan Graduate Thesis Award for Fine Arts and Humanities and subsequently won further recognition in her field as the recipient of the latter award.

On her return to the west coast Caroline embarked on a five year period of 'transitional living' which has informed and influenced her painting practice until very recently. She now lives and works on Hornby Island B.C. and is represented by six galleries across Canada and the U.S. and is currently teaching highly successful private workshops in Free Expression Painting throughout B.C.
