Caroline James Fine Art Fall NewsletterHello Friends and Family, Valued Customers and Clients,…:)…… Well,…..What an amazing and magical summer here on Hornby Island! As some of you know I decided to do the Summer Market this year and what a fantastic experience that was! The Peace Work and Sign Posts were wonderfully successful and I had the privilege of meeting some of the most incredibly interesting, joyful and consciously engaged people. Perhaps this had something to do with the content of the work but whatever the reason, I felt blessed to have met all of you and been able to add something meaningful to your Hornby experience. I think my favourite experience of the summer was listening to three 8 or 9 year old boys standing in front of “The Peace Wall” shyly singing John Lennon’s “Imagine”. Perhaps there’s hope for us after all,..:)… Hornby Island Peace Work will be available at several retail/gallery shops in Vancouver and Nanaimo soon, however if you’re looking for wonderfully meaningful Christmas giftsnow while they’re still here just “friend” me on Face Book and you can peruse the albums of Peace Work there. Thank you to all of you who made it such a joy and laughter filled summertime! EXHIBITION NEWSI will be having a Solo Exhibition of New Work entitled “Spiritual Materialism” at the beautiful McMillan Arts Center in Parksville, B.C. The Opening Reception is Friday October 7th from 7:00 – 9:00pm and the show runs through to November 30th. This new work focuses on the intuitive process of combining paint with recycled paper and fabric as well as various drawing mediums and industrial materials. Ranging from geometric to painterly, the work comes together as a dialogue around materials left behind as the detritus of living, and an obsession with texture and the unlimited capacity of found materials to be reinvented and reformed within the language of contemporary art. Often conceived in a “quiet” palette , this work is as always reflective of my own inner processes. Please come have a peek,……:)……133 McMillan St. Parksville B.C. www.oceansideartscouncil.com CARLOLINE JAMES FINE ART FABULOUS, AFFORDABLE THANKSGIVING STUDIO SALE!ONE DAY ONLY – SATURDAY - OCTOBER 8TH, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00p.m.Gorgeous early abstract painting, beautiful pieces from the Bird series not seen on Hornby before, all at “talk to the artist” pricing for one day!
